Students, teachers, and administration of the Lewiston-Altura school district strive to achieve excellence in the classroom, on stage, and on various competitive courts and fields.  Unfortunately, there continues to be many unmet needs and unfilled opportunities for our students and educators as district funding and taxpayer's dollars can only go so far.  The Cardinal Foundation was established to bridge this funding gap to give our students and educators the support they need. We at the Cardinal Foundation, believe that continued investment by the community is the best way to sustain and achieve success of this excellence.

The Cardinal Foundation is staffed, coordinated, facilitated entirely by volunteers with a passion to make the communities of Lewiston-Altura a better place for our students and teachers. Our Board of Directors is comprised of parents of current students enrolled in Lewiston-Altura High School and Elementary School.

We partner with the Winona Community Foundation to operate on a grant request basis.  The Winona Community Foundation accepts charitable donations on behalf of the Cardinal Foundation and disperses these funds in the form of grants based upon specific guidelines developed by the Board of Directors.
