About the Cardinal Foundation
Supporting Lewiston-Altura students through community-driven funding and opportunities beyond the classroom.

Who We Are
The Cardinal Foundation was created to support students and educators in Lewiston-Altura ISD 857 by helping fill funding gaps that school budgets alone cannot cover.

We are a volunteer-led organization made up of parents, alumni, and community members who are passionate about enhancing opportunities for students both in and out of the classroom.
Our
Mission
We partner with students, families, educators, and the community to enhance and enrich educational and extracurricular opportunities—ensuring every student has access to experiences that help them grow, succeed, and thrive.
Why It Matters
Students and educators in our district strive for excellence in academics, arts, and athletics—but not all opportunities can be funded through traditional school budgets.

The Cardinal Foundation exists to bridge that gap—ensuring students have access to meaningful experiences that prepare them for the future.
How It Works
The Cardinal Foundation operates on a grant-based system, where funds are distributed to support specific needs within the district.

We partner with the Winona Community Foundation, which manages donations and ensures funds are distributed responsibly and effectively.

Meet the Board
Our volunteer-led board is made up of parents and community members dedicated to supporting Lewiston-Altura students.
